Leader and Deputy nomination meeting - Walthamstow CLP supports:

Corbyn and Creasy

In a packed meeting Walthamstow CLP nominated Jeremy Corbyn for the Labour Party Leadership, and its own MP Stella Creasy for the Deputy Leadership. In accordance with the new rules on leadership selections the meeting - held today Saturday 25 July 2015 - was open to all party members within Walthamstow, and all supporters who had affiliated to the party through membership of an organisation affiliated to the Labour Party (see here for full list of affiliated organisations).

Two separate ballots were conducted using a single round preferential vote system. Under this system voters allocate preferences for each candidate (from 1 - 4 for leader, or 1 - 5 for deputy, or as few preferences as they wish). The candidate with the fewest 1st preferences drops out and the 2nd preferences are then re-allocated; this repeats to the lower preferences till one candidate has 50%+1 of the vote.
